Saudi FM Faisal bin Farhan discusses regional tensions with UK's Dominic Raab

LONDON: Ƶ’s foreign minister met with his British counterpart in London on Monday to discuss heightened Middle East tensions.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan said he discussed with Dominic Raab the two countries’ “strong bilateral relationship and our continuous coordination to bring about peace and stability to the region.”

Raab said: “The UK is continuing to work with international partners to deescalate tensions and conflict in the Middle East. Today I had a good first meeting with Faisal bin Farhan to discuss the challenges facing the region.”

Prince Faisal also visited the Kingdom’s London embassy, sharing a photo of himself with the staff and praising their work in enhancing relations between Ƶ and the United Kingdom.

Monday's meeting comes at a time of heightened instability across the region. Iraq and Lebanon continue to experience violent protests, and international involvement in the Libyan crisis threatens to escalate the conflict further.

US — Iran tensions also remain high after Iran launched ballistic missiles at American positions in Iraq, following years of escalation between the two countries.
